The idea
A blocker that removes the ad slot often breaks the page around it. Skiply presses the skip button when it appears and collapses sponsored entries in the feed, which leaves the site working.
Why the language list matters twice
Sponsored content is identified by its label — "Sponsored", "Gesponsert", "Sponsorisé". So Skiply's 18 locales are not just a translated UI; they are the detection vocabulary. Running it in German means it can find German ad labels.
It is also honest about the two network calls it makes, rather than claiming to be fully offline.
